About Homebound

Homebound is operated by Use Homebound (“we”, “us”). Homebound is a lost-property management tool that hotels use to log found items, match them to guests and arrange return by pickup or mail. By using Homebound — whether as hotel staff or a guest completing a return-shipping payment — you agree to these terms.

For hotels

Homebound is currently free for hotels to use, with no contracts, minimum orders, or commitments. Staff accounts are created by your property's admin and are for your team's use in managing lost property — not for any other purpose. You're responsible for the accuracy of what your team logs and for keeping staff login credentials secure.

For guests

If you're having an item mailed back to you, you'll enter your own shipping address and contact details and pay a return-shipping fee to cover the cost of postage plus a service charge. Payment is processed by Stripe and is taken at the time you confirm your shipping option. If you have a question about a charge, get in touch via our contact page.

Shipping and courier terms

Return shipments are booked through our courier partner, Transdirect, using real third-party couriers. We're not the courier. We make reasonable efforts to arrange delivery, but we don't guarantee delivery to a specific person — consistent with the courier's own terms, delivery is treated as complete once the courier obtains confirmation of receipt at the delivery address. Delivery times, loss, or damage in transit are subject to the relevant courier's own terms and conditions and standard transit cover, not a guarantee from us. If something goes wrong in transit, we'll help manage the claim with the courier on your behalf.

Limitation of liability

An item being shipped is at your risk from the moment it's handed to the courier. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homebound is not liable for loss of, damage to, or delay in delivering an item, however caused — that risk sits with the courier's own transit cover (see “Shipping and courier terms” above), not with us. If Homebound is found liable for anything in connection with these terms despite the above, our liability is limited, at our choice, to refunding the shipping fee you paid or arranging the service again — not the value of the item itself. We're also not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income, business, or data. Nothing in these terms excludes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Homebound changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.

Governing law
